Phuong Linh and Duy Nam – Two multi-talented young sibling artists

Hello Phuong Linh and Duy Nam, it's a pleasure to have you both participate in the Tiger Album project. When you first heard the demo versions of the songs in the Album, what did you think?

Phuong Linh: Yes, when I first heard the demo, I felt so happy! The music was so, so good! It made me just want to bounce along. I imagined myself flying into the forest with tigers, buffaloes, and cool, green trees!

Duy Nam: As for me, I felt extremely excited because I imagined myself walking into a real forest. All around me was filled with the sound of drums, birdsong, and even the roar of the Tiger!

Have you ever had the experience of recording children's songs before?

Phuong Linh: Yes, I have participated in many recording sessions for children's programs VTV, music projects, and my own music video productions! For example, the song 'Happy to School'.

Duy Nam: I have sung some songs before, but this is the first time I've participated in a project with Little Tiger, and I felt very excited!

Phuong Linh played the role of the Buffalo in the song 'Cop Hoi' (The Tiger Asks), so how did you 'embody' that character?

Phuong Linh: Yes, I imagined myself as a gentle Buffalo, so I sang slowly and softly, as if the Buffalo was thinking and diligently, industriously working!

During the process of recording the songs, did you two encounter any difficulties?

Phuong Linh: No, I didn't. I really liked it!

Duy Nam: As for me, I often speak too quickly, so I had to practice speaking more clearly. But there were the aunts and uncles - the music directors who helped us, so we were able to overcome it!

With the songs 'Dao Choi Trong Rung' (Strolling in the Forest) or 'Tim Cop' (Finding the Tiger), what message do Linh and Nam want to convey to the listeners? Are there any lyrics that you will always remember?

Phuong Linh: I want the little kids to listen and feel happy, and then also love nature like I do. I like the line 'Cop oi, Cop o dau?' (Tiger, oh Tiger, where are you?) the most because it's super cute!

Duy Nam: As for me, I want the kids to see that the forest is a magical place with many new things to explore. The lyric I remember is 'Di dau cho thay Cop la lung?' (Where to go to see the strange Tiger?) – because I find it mysterious like playing a treasure hunt!

As two siblings participating in the same music project, during the process of working together did the two siblings have any joys or difficulties to share with each other?

Phuong Linh: We often tease each other, and then hug and laugh. There was one time I cried because I was tired, and my brother even gave me milk and sang with me!

Duy Nam: I feel happy to work with my younger sister. Sometimes I let her sing first, and sometimes her laughing so much makes me forget the lyrics!

While singing songs like "Tim Cop" (Finding the Tiger) or "Cop Hoi" (The Tiger Asks), did you imagine you were living in the real fairy tale world?

Phuong Linh: Yes, I did! I imagined I was the Buffalo, and all around were trees with butterflies and birds singing.

Duy Nam: As for me, I saw myself as a little explorer, going across rivers, climbing mountains, and finding a cave where the Tiger is... reading a book! Hehe.

Which lyric impressed you the most? Why?

Phuong Linh: The line 'Ban Cop oi, ban nghi gi?' (Hey Tiger, what are you thinking?) is the one I always remember because I feel like I am actually talking with the Tiger.

Duy Nam: I like the line 'Cop hoi, ai noi Trau ngu?' (The Tiger asks, who says the Buffalo is dumb?) because it sounds both funny and makes you have to rethink the intelligence of the Buffalo!

What did you two learn while working on the Tiger Album?

Phuong Linh: I learned how to breathe evenly while singing, and also how to be patient!

Duy Nam: I learned how to coordinate with others, to listen, and I also learned more about how to record like a real singer!

Do you have anything you'd like to say to the audience of the Tiger Album?

Phuong Linh: Yes, I hope all the little kids will like it and sing along with us, and then also love the animals in the forest like we do.

Duy Nam: Thank you everyone for listening to and supporting the Tiger Album! Remember to sing loudly when you listen! because whoever sings along is our friend!

Thanks for your sharing!
