Hi Huy Hai, could you share your feelings when performing \u201cDot Cop\u201d \u2013 a fiery and dramatic song that stands out in the entire album?<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

First of all, I could truly feel the passion of the composer - Ngoc Duc Luong, and the artist Ninh Hai in this project. That made me really eager to join the casting and immediately perform the song \u201cDot Cop\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

In your opinion, what kind of tone does the song \u201cDot Cop\u201d carry, Hai? Is it anger, cunning, or perhaps\u2026 something bitter?<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

At first, when I knew the story \"Tri khon cua ta day\" (This Is My Wisdom), I thought the scene of burning the tiger would carry a tone of both anger and sorrow. But as I practiced and performed the song, I realized it was much more interesting - it reflects the villainous perspective of the farmer and the pitiful nature of the tiger even more.<\/span><\/p>\n

When recording, did you feel like you were \u201cacting\u201d as the farmer character? What emotions did you use to portray him?<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

No, I was just being myself. Maybe I\u2019m a bit \u201cvillainous\u201d too\u2026 But I believe the songwriter and the artists had a purpose when choosing the right voice for the song, so I just went with the flow.<\/span><\/p>\n

First, I had to practice and explore the song to understand the story and the intention behind the composer\u2019s work. Then I made sure to hit all the right notes according to the sheet music\u2014because no matter what, staying musically accurate comes first. After that, I added emotion, as if I were truly burning the tiger.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Not really. If anything, I did record the chorus parts one more time just to add a bit more color and richness. Overall, everything went pretty smoothly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What do you think about the blend of contemporary folk elements with a touch of modernity in the song \u201cDot Cop\u201d? Does this piece align with the style of music that you and your band Mun Go are currently pursuing?\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

The song \u201cDot Cop\u201d is really good. As long as culture lives, the nation lives - that\u2019s the core principle of Mun Go. Our mission is to experience, preserve, and pass on cultural stories and values to the community and younger generations in a fresh, creative way. Alongside that, we also try to incorporate different or more humanistic perspectives.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Do you think the farmer character is to be blamed or to be pitied?\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I think he is to be pitied. People like him are supposed to be sincere and honest, but it seems that the things he had to go through made him lose his kindness...\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That was the day I lost my voice during practice, and then got a sore throat on the recording day. But I managed to finish it in the end, luckily, I recovered and completed the song \u201cDot Cop\".\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a young artist like Hai, how is participating in a children's album different? Was there anything that made Hai feel like he learned more from this experience?<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

It was my first time participating in a children's album, and it was quite an interesting experience because I never thought I was suited for children's music. But this project was truly different. I discovered that I could actually sing musical theatre-style songs... Wow!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
